Atlético Nacional, leader of the Colombian league, drew 1-1 with the Argentinean Huracán this Wednesday in Buenos Aires and with an overall score of 4-1 advanced to the second phase of the Copa Sudamericana.

The guided by Juan Carlos Osorio, former coach of Mexico and Paraguay, had practically sealed their passport to the next stage of the tournament after the 3-0 victory in the first leg, played at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, in Medellin.

With this advantage, Nacional quickly took the lead on Wednesday through a penalty converted by Andrés Andrade in the 15th minute after a projection from the side Christian Mafla, which deflected off the hand of Ezequiel Navarro and resulted in the sanction by the Chilean referee Julio Bascuñán.

The home team did not let too much time pass and in the 21st minute they reached the tie after a cross from Santiago Hezze that found a precise header from Leandro Grimi, who in the same action dislocated his right shoulder, although he completed the match without requesting a change and coexisting with the pain.

Huracán, penultimate out of 24 teams in the Argentine Superliga, now has 12 consecutive matches without victory, with 4 draws and 8 losses, the last of which was last Saturday against Aldosivi by 0-2.

The rest of the match did not have greater illusions for the heroic afternoon-night of the 'Quemero' nor for the 'Verde' to take a victory as a visitor.

Argentine defender Diego Braghieri was one of the bastions of Atlético Nacional in this series, as his firmness allowed the Colombian team not to have any scares in this qualification.

Atlético Nacional dreams of its eighth international title after having won two Copa Libertadores (1989 and 2016), one Recopa Sudamericana (2017), two Copa Merconorte (1998 and 2000) and two Copa Interamericanas (1990 and 1997).

Likewise, they seek to remove the thorn they have in this tournament in which they reached the final three times and could not be crowned in any of them: 2002, 2014, and 2016.

For Huracán, with coach Israel Damonte at the helm, all that remains is to end the curse of winless performances in the three remaining rounds of the Superliga and have a good performance in the Copa de la Superliga, which follows on the calendar before the end of the season.
