Álvaro 'Palito' Pereira joins River Plate
Álvaro 'Palito' Pereira recently left the Uruguayan club Nacional where he did not find regularity. The experienced full-back became a free agent and was of interest to the Argentine club Colón, but the deal did not happen.
In the midst of this, River Plate appeared, a Paraguayan team that will play in the Copa Sudamericana and is looking to strengthen itself with high-quality players for the international tournament.
The president of Kelito, Carlos Ortega, confirmed that Álvaro Pereira will be a player for River Plate. "This afternoon we met and signed all the documents," he said in a conversation with Fútbol a lo Grande.
The Kelito's leader expressed that a good financial agreement was reached. "Luckily, we were able to close the deal and the contract will be for one year," he concluded.
Thus, Pereira will return to Paraguayan football, as he previously played for Cerro Porteño in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 seasons.
