Sergio "Patito" Aquino announced this Friday, at a press conference, that the extension of his contract for six more months with Libertad is because at the end of the semester he will hang up his boots as a professional footballer.
The experienced midfielder, 40 years old, made this announcement prior to Libertad's pre-season trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the technical leadership of Ramón Díaz.
Sergio Aquino, the most successful player in Paraguayan football with 14 titles (13 absolute championships and 1 Copa Paraguay), will bid farewell after a successful career where he wore the jerseys of Cerro Porteño, Olimpia, and Libertad, where he is an idol.
Patito was born in Laguna Blanca, Argentina, but made his entire football career in our country, which allowed him to wear the colors of the Albirroja on 16 occasions.
