The coach of Cerro Porteño, Víctor Bernay, spoke at a press conference this Friday, anticipating what will be the last match of the azulgrana team in 2019, on Sunday against General Díaz in La Nueva Olla at 18:00 hours for the 22nd round of the Clausura tournament.
Bernay made it clear that this will be his last match leading the main squad and he seemed very emotional. "I have been working to ensure that everything goes smoothly and that whoever is in charge of the group in 2020 finds everything planned," he said.
"I fulfilled a dream that I had, which was to dress professionally with this shirt again. The happiness and the challenge I had to return to the club as a professional leave me satisfied," he added.
A BEAUTIFUL PROCESS ENDS. He expressed his gratitude to the directive, the squad, and all the people who work in the azulgrana club. "The championship ends on Sunday, a beautiful process ends, my first thanks go to the group of players, the group of club workers, to everyone," he stated.
"The cycle ends on Sunday. Thank you, thank you, and thank you to everyone who is part of this beautiful family," he concluded.
Bernay took over as interim coach in October after the departure of Miguel Ángel Russo. From January onwards, he would return as coordinator of the Youth Divisions of the Ciclón. So far, he has directed eight matches, winning 6 and losing 2.
