Superclásico: Olimpia vs Cerro Porteño
Olimpia and Cerro Porteño will face each other this Sunday, November 24th, at 5:00 PM, in the last superclásico of the year to be held at the Manuel Ferreira stadium. 18,000 tickets have been made available for this match.
Disagreement over Ticket Allocation
Olimpia handed over 2,000 tickets to Cerro Porteño, which was not well received in Barrio Obrero since the agreement was for 3,000 tickets. This displeasure was expressed by Ariel Martínez, the Cerro Porteño representative in the Divisional Profesional, on Wednesday.
Concerns over Safety
The Cerro Porteño official addressed the issue during the delegates' meeting, criticizing Olimpia. "We are deeply concerned. Due to the cleverness of a few, we are putting the safety and lives of many fans at risk," he pointed out.
Martínez argues that Olimpia has failed to uphold the gentleman's agreement. "We provided all the guarantees at La Olla and the event went without any incidents. Today, we are very worried," he added.
Calls for Intervention
Martínez expressed the frustration of the Cerro Porteño institution for not fulfilling the agreed-upon terms. "We ask for the intervention of the Paraguayan Football Association. There has been a violation of the regulations and of gentlemanliness. There was no reciprocity," he concluded.
