Roque Santa Cruz expresses his indignation about the situation of General Díaz players
The forward of Olimpia, Roque Santa Cruz, spoke with Radio Monumental 1080 AM on Wednesday and expressed the indignation that surrounds the guild due to the treatment received by General Díaz players, who are owed several months of salary. He mentioned that the scheduled "strike" for November 6 aims to set a precedent.
"There is a very delicate situation such as going 6 months without getting paid. There are many issues and it is an unworthy treatment towards them, to live and not being able to provide for their families with the fruit of their work. There is a lot of indignation," Santa Cruz began saying in the program "El que avisa no traiciona" (The one who warns doesn't betray).
"We hope that a precedent can be set and that it will not happen again. It is not the intention to harm the good relationships with the leaders, but rather to show ourselves firmly," he added.
Santa Cruz insisted on the need to sit down and discuss several topics related to the work of football players, demand laws that protect sports workers, and also the control of clubs to avoid salary payment problems.
