Postponement of the Superclásico between Olimpia and Cerro Porteño confirmed
In a Divisional meeting, it was confirmed what had already been speculated a few days ago regarding the date of the Superclásico between Olimpia and Cerro Porteño, which was postponed due to coinciding with the final of the Copa Sudamericana.
The National Police requested that the derby be postponed because all the logistics of sporting events and police officers will focus on the Copa Sudamericana final, to be held on Saturday, November 9, at the Nueva Olla, between Colón from Argentina and Independiente del Valle from Ecuador.
Olimpia and Cerro Porteño executives agreed and it was decided to postpone the date of the Superclásico. The championship will not be interrupted by the Sudamericana final as the Divisional decided to swap rounds 18 and 17.
Round 18 will be played on Sunday, November 10, Monday, November 11, and Tuesday, November 12. And round 17, where the derby will be played, on the weekend of Friday, November 22, Saturday, November 23, and Sunday, November 24.
Thus, the date marked for the celebration of the greatest celebration of Paraguayan football is set for Sunday, November 24, at 17:00, at the Manuel Ferreira stadium.
