The Tricolor needs to regain the path of victory
The Tricolor, after a good start under the guidance of Chiqui Arce, winning two matches by big scores, has slowed down to the point that out of the last nine points, they have only achieved one (a goalless draw against Sol). Therefore, they urgently need to regain the path of victory.
Their aspiration is to secure a spot in the Copa Sudamericana, where they are close, but in order to do so, they need to accumulate points urgently because they are not among the top four teams.
On the other hand, the Eagles' objective revolves around staying in the category and despite being outside of the relegation zone by a narrow margin, they are fiercely competing with other teams that are also in a compromising situation, such as Luqueño, Capiatá, and Santaní (two teams will be relegated). General hasn't won for several rounds.
Their last victory was in matchday 9 (3-0 against Luqueño), and since then they have suffered three defeats and one draw (2-2 against Cerro). All of this is happening amidst the club's economic crisis.
THE FIGURE: 8 matches have been played between Cerro Porteño, Nacional, and General: 4 wins for Cerro Porteño, 2 wins for General, and 2 draws.
