Paraguayan football player Sergio Díaz shines in Cerro Porteño's victory over River Plate
Cerro Porteño defeated River Plate 2-0 in the closing of the 8th round of the Clausura with a great performance by Sergio Díaz, his best version since returning to the blue and red team.
Nelson Haedo Valdez declared that he liked the young footballer's performance. "He only missed the goal to crown his good game," he highlighted in an interview with Fútbol a lo Grande.
The captain of Cerro Porteño also revealed that he sat down with Sergio Díaz and had a one-on-one chat with him. "I told him to take this stage at Cerro Porteño as a stepping stone to come back stronger," he detailed. "It will depend on him whether to accept my suggestion or not," he added.
Nelson fulfills his role as captain and confessed that he talks a lot with the younger players. His contract with Cerro Porteño is until December and the future is uncertain. "I have a contract until the end of the year. I feel motivated to continue and everything will depend on the board," he concluded.
