Paco Jémez: The difference now is that the goals enter

For Paco Jémez, the big difference between the Cruz Azul that accumulated nine games without a victory and the one that is now having a positive streak, and that has already reached the semi-finals of the Copa Mx, is the effectiveness.

"The difference right now is that before they didn't go in and now they do, and that gives you peace of mind so that in certain moments and certain situations you can try more things, but I think the difference between this team and the one three days ago is that before it was complicated for us to score and now we are finding the back of the net with relative ease."

However, Paco is clear that little by little La Máquina is approaching the level he wants, and he hopes that it will be enough to beat Tigres, which he considers to be the best team in Mexican football.

"We are going to face the champion, perhaps the best or one of the best teams in the tournament, but I have never doubted, not even when the results didn't come, I have never doubted the level of my team, but it is true that now we must focus on winning. We are getting closer and closer (to what we want), this is like chasing perfection, we know that we will never find it, but the more we advance, the closer we will be," said the coach.

"We are becoming more solid little by little, I believe that we are moving better, we have more positions and quality to interpret the football that I want; week by week we are going to be a better team, week by week we are going to improve and hopefully the improvement will help us to beat Tigres."

About the role of Martín Cauteruccio, who scored a hat-trick against Santos, Jémez valued the forward's functions.

"While the goals haven't arrived, he has known very well how to interpret that he had a lot of work for the team; I thank him for that, there came a point where he told me 'coach, they don't go in and they don't go in' and I told him 'it's okay, you're doing what I need for the team and the goals will come' and if they hadn't come, he hadn't gotten desperate and he hadn't given up, he has done a very obscure but very necessary job for the team and as a coach, I don't overlook that, those three goals are a reward for the work," he concluded.
