Atlas: Alustiza returns as a key player for the team
He came in for the second half and was responsible for causing a revolution in Atlas. First ball, goal in favor. Matías Alustiza returned to be the important man that the team expects for this tournament.
Jose Guadalupe Cruz took him out at the end of the first half against Chivas 15 days ago, against Cruz Azul in Week 7 he didn't even use him, but he assured that none of this has been a punishment, but a method to recover him.
"These decisions are not meant to punish someone, but to recover their best version, because what we see today, I believe he can even give more for the rest of the tournament. We have to consider other factors, because before being a skilled footballer, he is a human being and has situations outside the field that affect his mindset, and in that sense, we have also taken care of the human being."
He recalled that it is not the first time they have had these types of "issues" with 'Chavo', but something like this in Puebla helped strengthen the bond beyond the field with the Argentine forward.
"Matías is an extraordinary player with incredible abilities. He has natural talent. We have had episodes like this in Puebla that have strengthened our relationship. I understand people's annoyance, their disagreement with these situations (making him a substitute). I liked it a lot. The first ball he touches, he sends it to the net. The second goal is a genius assist, with a heel. He has run, fought, and has been supportive with the team. I loved it."
Two goals, seven games, and 471 minutes are Alustiza's numbers so far in the tournament. Midweek, he had to settle for the Copa MX and could return to the starting eleven next week when Atlas visits Necaxa.
