The Liga MX reports a correction in the scoring sheet of the Pumas vs. Xolos match
The Liga MX informed through a statement that the central referee, Marco Antonio Ortiz Nava, sent a document to correct the refereeing sheet of the Pumas vs. Xolos match, where the last goal, originally awarded as an own goal by Juan Carlos Valenzuela of Tijuana, was given to Nicolás Castillo of Club Universidad.
"LIGA Bancomer MX announces that the central referee, Marco Antonio Ortiz Nava, has sent a document to correct the refereeing sheet in relation to the goal that occurred at 81 minutes in the Estadio Olímpico Universitario," reads the statement.
The goal that gave Pumas the equalizer came at the 81st minute, after a rebound that hit the player from the border team to make it 3-3; the letter specifies that Marco Antonio Ortiz is based on FIFA's principles.
"The above is based on FIFA's principles, which states that any shot on goal, regardless of any deflection by another player, the goal should be awarded to the player who took the shot," it says.
With this goal, Nicolás Castillo reaches four goals after Matchday 7 of Clausura 2017, tying with Avilés Hurtado of Xolos.
