Note: Some Chivas players feel forgotten by the coach
Despite Chivas having four players called up for the upcoming game against Iceland, some members of the team feel forgotten by coach Juan Carlos Osorio.
Jair Pereira, central defender and captain of the team, expressed his dissatisfaction after once again not being included in the national team. The 'Commander' of the Chivas defense didn't hesitate to point out that it is obvious that he is not favored by the Colombian coach.

"I think that question is not for me, I try to do things right. I have had the opportunity to wear the Mexican jersey once, and it is a great honor. One of the things I desire, apart from being a champion, is to represent my country. Maybe it's not enough, maybe it hasn't caught his eye and I can't do anything about it, I just have to keep working, focus on Chivas, and if I ever receive the opportunity, I will be the happiest person."
In addition to defending his case, Pereira highlighted Jesus Sanchez and Edwin Hernandez as two of his defense teammates who have also been "forgotten" by the national team.
"That's something the coach could answer better. It has happened that players who haven't had league participation were still called up if they were to his liking. That's just the reality. We have guys who have proven themselves here, 'Chapito' is one of the best full-backs, and the same with Edwin. It's not because he's my teammate, I'm self-critical and I can see the talent. But if you're not favored by the coach, you can be left aside. Jair's opinion is that I have the best right back and the best left back in the tournament," he concluded.
Both Pereira and 'Chapo' and 'Aris' are three key players in Matías Almeyda's lineup, but they have not caught the attention of Juan Carlos Osorio.
