President of the Mexican Volleyball Federation seeks to host Final Four in Mexico

The President of the Mexican Volleyball Federation (FMVB), Jesús Perales, is determined to host the Final Four of indoor volleyball in Mexico, despite the limited budget for Mexican sports this year. This tournament would see our country compete against the top three teams from Group III.

"The International Volleyball Federation has turned its attention towards us due to the tournaments we have already organized, such as the Grand Prix and the World League. Now they are offering us the Final Four. We have been in talks with the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (Conade), as well as with sports institutes, in order to lessen the financial burden on Conade", stated Perales.

The FMVB is also planning to host three other events this year: the Grand Prix, a Norceca tournament, and a World Championship.

"We are collaborating with sports institutes and encouraging their interest in hosting these events. We have received positive responses from Guanajuato for the Final Four, Aguascalientes for the Grand Prix, and La Paz for the Norceca beach event. These three events have already been presented to Conade, and the institute has made its request. We hope to have more clarity soon. We also have the Under-20 World Championship in Veracruz, which we have coordinated in Córdoba and Boca del Río. Therefore, this tournament is more likely to take place", said Perales.

The President of the Mexican Volleyball Federation made these statements during the presentation of the celebrations for the centenary of the arrival of volleyball in our country. It was also announced that a book will be published, detailing the achievements of the Mexican team over the years. This book, with contributions from volleyball player Blanca García and professor Eduardo Gorraez, will be available for sale in March.
