Jorge "Chatón" Enríquez and Ventura Alvarado were the guests of honor on the program "Somos Santos".

Jorge "Chatón" Enríquez expressed his desire to revive his career in Santos Laguna, while Ventura Alvarado wants to establish himself with the albiverde team, both of them being the new reinforcements of the club who had their first participation in the program "Somos Santos" broadcasted last night Monday from the Corona Stadium.

"Chatón" thanked the coach José Manuel de la Torre for bringing him to Santos and the management for trusting his work.

"That marked my life and me, I am from Tepic and I returned there, I started from scratch, returned to the First Division and it will be something very good, I want to revive, to be that leader they mentioned."

Ventura, on the other hand, knows that with the facilities that Santos provides, there should be no excuse not to succeed individually and as a team.

The program was hosted by the beautiful Daniela Ramos and Raymundo Carrillo, who had a couple of players take the opportunity to demonstrate other skills, such as music, within the new format where players interact more with the fans.

Initially, they both talked about their beginnings in soccer.

"I think to start, I was in the United States, my parents were fans of soccer, they taught me about Mexican players and I watched the Mexican National Team matches with them."

"I first started in Pachuca, I was there for a year in the Youth Academy and at the age of 14, I went to America. I started as a midfielder, then moved to defense, I did a good job and stayed there."

"My first match in the First Division was against Toluca, Miguel Herrera gave me my debut", commented Ventura Alvarado.

The "Chatón" Enríquez started in the Third Division as a child. "When I started playing in the third division, I played in the neighborhood as a child, with friends and in professionals at the age of 14 in Nayarit, I arrived in Guadalajara at the age of 15, and we started taking this profession more seriously, seeing it as a career and a very beautiful job."

His arrival at Santos, another opportunity in his career to revive.

"Very happy to be here, motivated, I think it is a great opportunity to achieve the best and bring joy to the people of Torreón, La Laguna," said Enríquez.

Ventura commented on his arrival at the team from La Laguna. "Very happy, there was a moment when some people took it badly, but being here we are professionals and that's how soccer is, it is a big step in my career to come to Santos."

"Motivated to build a great team and seek the championship," said the Mexican-American player.

The Chatón is amazed by the club's facilities, for him, the best in Mexico. "It's something incredible, there are no facilities like these, no fields and this stadium, there are none elsewhere in Mexico, we have everything to be good and seek important things, that reflects the greatness of this club," he said.

It is well known that Enríquez has already worked with José Manuel de la Torre in the National Team and in his past with Chivas.

"I had the fortune to work with him in national teams and in Guadalajara and now he gives me this opportunity to revive my career, I thank him and the club for being here, we are going to fight for important things."

Ventura's goal is to do well in Santos, to be called up again to the United States National Team.

"I always have in mind to represent my country, first I have to do well here in Santos to be able to go there, the main thing is Santos and then think about the National Team."

The "Chatón's" idols, one of them with an albiverde past, Ramón Ramírez.

"As a kid, I had two idols, a Mexican and a Frenchman, Zidane, he was always the best for me, not only because of the position he played, and a fellow countryman of mine, Ramón Ramírez, I always admired him, he was a different player and ahead of the others, today he is my great friend," he asserted.

Cannavaro and Dinho, the best for Ventura. "Ronaldinho since he was at PSG is an example, not only in soccer, you always see him smiling in difficult moments"

"Cannavaro too, the only defender who has won the Ballon d'Or, a player with grit and passion, people only pay attention to forwards, but he did the dirty work, the strong work, defending your team," he said.

"Chatón" proudly showed the gold medal from the 2012 London Olympic Games, achieved with the National Team.

The "Chatón" Enríquez started in the Third Division as a child. "When I started playing in the third division, I played in the neighborhood as a child, with friends".

"It is a memory that I will always have in my heart, something very beautiful that happened to Mexican soccer, not only to me, we were in need of good news and it is something that we will all remember and that tells you that we can achieve important things when we set our minds to it, that's why I am here in Santos, to revive."

Being in the Ascenso MX with Coras is not a setback, but a learning experience.

"They are lessons that life and soccer give you, the truth is that they are beautiful learnings, I talk to my family, I tell them that it is a chapter that I don't see as bad or sad, it is something that gave me the opportunity to continue playing what I love the most and continue learning."

"That marked my life and me, I am from Tepic and I returned there, I started from scratch, returned to the First Division and doing it in Santos, defending these colors, with the enthusiasm I have and that learning, it will be something very good, I want to revive, to be that leader they mentioned," said Enríquez.
