Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán shines in Tigres championship victory
Goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán, who became the hero of the Tigres after stopping the first three goals that gave the title to the university team at El Volcán, highlighted the work done by his teammates despite the two red cards received, as they never stopped searching for the Apertura 2016 championship.
"The team never gave up, they ran with their hearts and got their reward. Everyone contributed and luckily we converted and won the prize, today it was our turn," said the Argentine goalkeeper.
Regarding the brawl that took place, he stated that in a final, the game becomes more intense as both teams aim to take the championship trophy. He also commented that both 'U' and the Eagles put on a great show, as they are currently the top clubs in the Mexican League.
"In the football environment, today's match was almost at the limit, it was too intense, but it would have been better to win more comfortably, but finals are played like this, and I believe that the two teams who played this final are the best at the moment and they reaffirmed it; it was a great spectacle, a great second half, it got a bit dirty, but finals are like that, I don't justify anything," he declared.
