The body led by Ana Guevara did not sit idly by and filed an appeal after the District Judge in Administrative Matters in Mexico City, Agustín Tello Espíndola, ruled in early June in favor of the members of the Mexican team and determined the definitive suspension of the 'freezing' of the economic resources that Conade delivers to the athletes, and on Tuesday they finally ruled against Conade.
"When the judge in Administrative Matters granted the definitive suspension, Conade appealed to the Collegiate Circuit Court," said the lawyer for the artistic swimming team, Luis Jiménez. "That means before three magistrates, and today they notified me that the collegiate court ratified or confirmed the sentence, meaning that the suspension was duly granted and the definitive suspension is maintained. This means that Conade failed in its attempt to revoke that suspension."
Therefore , Conade must continue to grant scholarships to all athletes on the artistic swimming team, to the coaches, and even with the new adjustments in the amounts after their participation in the 2023 Fukuoka World Championship, where several of them are entitled to receive a higher amount.
"It must be this way until the trial is over, and I am sure that the sentence will be favorable, and it will be issued after October 2nd, and then Conade will surely appeal it and that appeal will go to the same collegiate court, and during all that time Conade must pay the scholarships to the athletes," the lawyer said.
Nuria Diosdado and Joana Jiménez are two of the swimmers who receive the highest scholarship of 22,500 pesos for the sixth place they achieved in the technical team event at the Fukuoka World Championship.
