Puebla is sanctioned for improper lineup and Xolos takes the three points.

The investigation process involved the study of evidence provided and collected, as well as the analysis of statements provided by representatives of the Puebla FC Club and match officials.

The Disciplinary Commission previously notified the club about the process, listened to all parties involved, and guaranteed the right to reply, whose deadline expired on Monday, September 11.

The resolution determined that the assistant coach of Puebla, Luis Miguel Noriega Orozco, participated in the Matchday 7 game without being properly registered on the lineup sheet. The Commission considers the Puebla FC Club guilty of violating article 44 subparagraph a) of the Sanctions Regulation and article 49 number 49.1 of the Competition Regulation of the Liga MX due to this improper lineup.

Consequently, a sanction is imposed on the Puebla FC Club that implies the loss of the match played against the Tijuana Club in Matchday 7 of the Opening 2023 Tournament. As a result, the score of said match is modified, establishing a final result of 1-0 in favor of the Tijuana Club.

It should be noted that in the original match, Puebla hosted Tijuana at the Cuauhtémoc Stadium and achieved a 3-0 victory. However, with the loss of this match due to the sanction, the Puebla Club will descend positions in the general table, placing itself in 16th position. This sanction has significant repercussions on the performance and position of the Puebla team in the Opening 2023 tournament.
