Ángel Malagón and Israel Reyes received recognition from the Eagles for the title they won with Mexico in the Gold Cup
The America decided to recognize their champions of the Gold Cup with the Mexico National Team, Henry Martín, Israel Reyes, and Luis Ángel Malagón, a month after the tournament celebration, all within the framework of the match against León, corresponding to matchday 6 of the Apertura 2023.
The Mexican national team became Concacaf champions in mid-July, but it was 40 days later that the Eagles decided to celebrate their champions with El Tri.
Malagón and Israel received plaques in recognition of the championship they obtained with Mexico, while Henry was absent as he is recovering from a muscle tear that has caused him to be sidelined from the call-ups.
Both players were applauded and celebrated by the fans in the stadium.
Another player recognized this afternoon at the Coloso de Santa Úrsula was the Spaniard Álvaro Fidalgo for his 100 first games as an azulcrema player.
The Spaniard arrived in the Liga MX in 2021 and since then has become one of the favorites of the emplumada fans.
Álvaro has a contract with the azulcrema until the summer of 2026, being one of the players with the longest contract duration with the club.
The Iberian received a framed jersey with the number 100 on the back, while his teammates applauded the 26-year-old footballer who came through the youth system of Real Madrid.
