The North American soccer and baseball leagues rescheduled games for this weekend in Los Angeles and San Diego, California in anticipation of the arrival of Hurricane Hilary, a category 4 hurricane that is moving towards northwest Mexico.

The phenomenon, which is moving across the Pacific Ocean with sustained maximum winds of 215 km/h, can cause heavy storms and flooding in both the Baja California peninsula (northwest Mexico) and parts of the southern area of California (southwest United States), where authorities issued an unusual tropical storm alert.

Given this situation, the soccer teams Los Angeles FC (LAFC) and LA Galaxy postponed the games they were supposed to host in their stadiums on Sunday, the day the North American league (MLS) resumes after a month-long break for the Leagues Cup.

In Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, and San Diego Padres moved their scheduled games for Sunday to Saturday.

Therefore, the Dodgers will play a doubleheader against the Miami Marlins on Saturday, the Angels will face the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Padres will take on the Arizona Diamondbacks.
