Club de Fútbol Monterrey will play the match for the third place of the Leagues Cup tournament against Philadelphia Union in the United States. Fernando Ortiz, the team's coach, will send players who didn't have many minutes in the last games to the field to fight for the third place this Saturday.
Players like Victor López, Daniel Parra, Kevin Ortega, Ali Ávila, among others, will start the match. The regular starters will have a rest after playing several important games, to ensure their performance for their return to Mexican football.
"That's why we support and follow you, that's why we want to see you fight. Next game, let's go Rayados!"
The coach detailed in the press conference after the elimination against Nashville that he still doesn't know who will play that match, but he knows that there will be players who have been substitutes throughout the tournament.
"Yes, well, in the same way that we took it seriously, I honestly don't know who will play yet. There are many players who have been playing frequently, and having the possibility to count on young players, there is already an important rotation in my mind."
"During more than 20 days, you have accompanied us through more than 10,000 kilometers and we have painted USA blue and white. We still have one more match to play and many challenges to overcome. Yesterday, today, and always... Up with Monterrey!"
This Wednesday, the Club De Futbol Monterrey team received a rest day to travel on Thursday afternoon to Philadelphia, where they will play their match on Saturday for the third and fourth place of the tournament.
