Denis Bouanga achieved a hat-trick, Mexican forward Carlos Vela added a double, and Los Angeles FC had a successful debut on Wednesday, crushing Ciudad Juarez 7-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Leagues Cup.
Bouanga scored his goals in the 52nd, 66th, and 78th minutes, the last one from the penalty spot, while Vela added his goals in the 33rd and 61st minutes.

Ryan Hollingshead opened the scoring in the 31st minute and Nathan Ordaz sealed the victory with a goal in the 90th minute for LAFC, who advanced to the round of 16 without competing in the group stage as the reigning MLS champions.
The team led by Mexican Vela will now face the winner of the match between León and Real Salt Lake, which will be played on Thursday.
Amaury Escoto scored in the 47th minute for the Bravos, who surprised by advancing from the group stage but now will have to wait a couple of weeks while the tournament resumes in their country.
