James Cameron is one of the most well-known directors in the world of cinema for having directed films like Titanic and including real images of the ship in a movie that catapulted his career. So he couldn't go unnoticed after the recent tragic accident.
In that sense, after the tragedy of the submarine Titan, which aimed to show the debris of the transatlantic ship, rumors emerged that the filmmaker would be willing to work on a production about the OceanGate Expedition.
Rumors of a movie about OceanGate
Until a few days ago, The Sun reported about the commercial and cinematographic interest that Cameron would have to make a film or documentary about the unfortunate journey of the submarine Titan and the loss of the five people on board, however, the filmmaker has categorically denied it.
"I normally don't respond to offensive rumors on social media, but I need to do it now. I am not in talks to make a movie about OceanGate, nor will I ever be," stated James Cameron, film director, producer, and screenwriter.

Let's remember that when the news of the submarine's disappearance came out, the filmmaker was one of the first to speak out thanks to his vast experience in excursions of that kind. He indicated that everything that was said from the loss of communication of the Titan to the confirmation of the passengers' death was an "extended and nightmarish farce."
He regretted that the tragedy of the Titanic, which was caused by arrogance, had been repeated in this situation. "The same arrogance that condemned that ship is what led the occupants of the Titan to their fate. It's heartbreaking that it was so avoidable," he concluded.
