The United States leads in economic gains over Mexico.

FIFA has revealed the distribution of profits to clubs for the loan of their players for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

United States has positioned itself as the country that benefits the most economically in the Concacaf region, leaving Mexico behind. According to the report published by FIFA, clubs affiliated with US Soccer received a total of $5.4 million, while those of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) obtained $4.7 million.

In total, $209 million was distributed proportionally among 440 teams that released their players to participate in the World Cup. United States tops the list in the Concacaf zone, followed by Mexico. Costa Rica ranks third with $3.3 million, followed by Canada with $1.9 million.

Within Mexico, the most benefited club was Monterrey, who obtained a total of $1,168,958. At a considerable distance, América ranks second with $591,323, followed by Pachuca with $580,373. In contrast, Tigres was the Mexican club that received the least amount, with $15,513 dollars.

In total, 12 clubs from the Liga MX and one from the Expansion League (Dorados de Sinaloa) were recognized and awarded by FIFA. However, teams such as Querétaro, Atlas, Necaxa, Puebla, Xolos, and Atlético San Luis do not appear in the report. The sum received by the Liga MX represents 30.66% of the total retribution to the Concacaf region.
