Mexico's Current Situation
Mexico secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the Copa Oro-2023 with a 3-1 victory over Haiti on Thursday at the Farm de Glendale stadium in Arizona, for the second matchday of Group B.
The Mexican national team reached six points and solidified their position as the group leader with their second victory, while Haiti remained with three points in second place.
At the start of the second half, in the 46th minute, Martin finally scored the 1-0 for Mexico with a header inside the area. The 2-0 came courtesy of Caribbean defender Ricardo Ade with an own goal in the 56th minute, in his attempt to divert a low cross from 'Tri'.
Haiti narrowed the gap to 2-1 in the 78th minute with a powerful header from Danley Jean after a corner kick from the right. But Santiago Giménez (83) sealed the 3-1 in favor of the Mexican team with a good finish.
