Regiomontano bullfighter Sergio Garza ready for the Great Banderilleros Challenge

The Regiomontano bullfighter, Sergio Garza, is ready for the Great Banderilleros Challenge this Friday at the Monumental Plaza in Monterrey where he will be competing against Uriel Moreno "El Zapata" and Antonio García "El Chihuahua" for the trophy for the best pair of banderillas.

"Now the fans are going to have a very exciting night with an afternoon of bullfighting banderilleros and there will be a trophy for the best pair of banderillas, we have to excite the people," commented Garza.

It's your return to the Monumental after last year where you had an accident, everything overcome?

"Last year we had an incident at the Monumental in Monterrey, we had a 19 centimeter goring, thank God it didn't hit the femoral artery, but now with all the spirit of returning, that time we returned fifteen days later to bullfight because we had a commitment with Diego Ventura and one is a bullfighter and wants to be ready for the challenge that comes," shared Garza.

They end up being part of the job, right?

"Yes, now they are medals for us bullfighters, it doesn't influence anything, I'm going with all the attitude and spirit, with the preparation in place for people to enjoy an exciting night," affirmed Garza.

With these hot conditions, how are you facing the bullfight?

"We're melting little by little, that's what the bullfighter's preparation is for, the advantage is that it's at night, we'll be comfortable, it won't be at four in the afternoon, as usual, we'll be at eight, the heat goes down and people can have their beer to hydrate. A bullfighter is there for that and for any situation," stated Garza.

How have the past months been in terms of preparation?

"The preparation has been daily, since the recovery from the goring we haven't stopped, blessed God we have been bullfighting in important fairs like the San Marcos Fair and we have been killing bulls, also in the countryside, in the mountains, in the plaza, the daily preparation has been intense," pointed out Garza.

What can we expect from the Monumental's audience?

"First and foremost, I want to defend my land, I'll be with some lions who are also very good banderilleros, but each one goes for their own thing, the people will be excited because Sergio Garza is going to triumph that afternoon," concluded Garza.
