How much will SNAP pay each month in 2023
The SNAP program is distributed in 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia. However, the amounts given vary for the 48 contiguous states of the United States, Alaska, and Hawaii.
The amount given is conditional on the number of household members. Incomes and other requirements also influence the amounts. The maximum amounts change from year to year and go into effect on October 1st.
These are the maximum amounts granted in the 48 contiguous states of the United States, including the District of Columbia:
- 1 member: $281
- 2 members: $516
- 3 members: $740
- 4 members: $939
- 5 members: $1,116
- 6 members: $1,339
- 7 members: $1,480
- 8 members: $1,691
- Additional member: +$211
For beneficiaries living in Alaska, the maximum is $1,172 for 4-member families living in the urban area, $1,494 for those in rural area 1, and $1,819 for residents of rural area 2.
