America is eliminated from the semifinal against Chivas and will no longer fight for the title.
After the match, Henry Martín expressed surprise at Fernando Ortiz's resignation during the press conference and explained that they will discuss what happened on Monday.
"I didn't know. I just found out from you, and tomorrow we will talk about it. Tomorrow will be the day to talk with him, with the board, with my teammates, and the conclusions will come out," said the blue-cream attacker. "There has always been support. It takes me by surprise, I really don't know what to say, I didn't expect it. Tomorrow will be the day to get together, to talk, and things will come out," he added.
"I didn't know about the Tano (that he is leaving America); we can't blame Fidalgo... we didn't rise to the occasion": Henry Martín

With the coach's departure, Henry answered whether that could also determine his stay in the team.
"I don't know. Those decisions are not made in the heat of the moment or at this time, but with the decision of the board. It will depend on what happens in these days," he analyzed.
The goalscorer of the Eagles also backed Álvaro Fidalgo, who was sent off in the match and later apologized to his teammates.
"The truth is that we are a team, we have to go out and support our teammate. We can't blame anyone, mistakes were made, we are paying for mistakes again, but this team has the ability to overcome that, to turn it around, once again we didn't achieve it and we are very hurt," Martín acknowledged.
The forward acknowledged that they made many mistakes and will have to learn from them for the next tournament.
We were not up to the level of what a semifinal is, I think we lacked more intensity, I don't know, I have to watch the game again, but we lacked it, of course. Now we have to keep thinking, keep hoping in some way, but now there is no head for that," he explained.
Finally, he sent a message to the blue-cream fans and faced criticism head-on.
"We are here to receive the criticism, we know they are hurt, we are too. It is a shame what just happened for the team we have, we have more, we deserved more, but we were not up to the level. once again we were eliminated and I think we have to sit down and analyze the situation and see what's next," he concluded.
