Sultanes de Monterrey defeat Algodoneros del Unión Laguna
In a slugfest, the Sultanes de Monterrey defeated the Algodoneros del Unión Laguna by a score of 12-8 in the second game of the series held on Saturday at Estadio Revolución.
A four-run rally in the first inning and a six-run inning in the fifth led the Sultanes to victory, tying the series at one win apiece. The decisive game will be played on Sunday.

From the first inning, the Sultanes attacked Braden Webb with a four-run rally. José Cardona and Christian Villanueva scored from third base on two wild pitches by the opposing starter.
Roberto Valenzuela and Víctor Mendoza also drove in a run each with a double and a single, respectively.
Laguna responded in their first offensive turn with a run produced by Luis Sardiñas, who drove Allen Córdoba home with a hit to center field.
In the third inning, Laguna scored another run with a RBI single by Nick Torres, bringing Córdoba home once again.
The fifth inning brought six runs for the Sultanes. With the bases loaded, Roberto Valenzuela was hit by a pitch and Víctor Mendoza drew a walk. Valenzuela then hit a two-run double, Ronny Rodríguez sacrificed to bring in the ninth run, and Ali Solís drove in the tenth run with a double.
The Algodoneros scored two more runs in the fifth inning. Luis Sardiñas hit a double for one run, and Nick Torres brought in the other run with a single to left field. However, the Sultanes also scored two runs in the sixth inning with a two-RBI single by Ronny Rodríguez.
In the eighth inning, Allen Córdoba hit a home run for three runs, bringing the Algodoneros within four runs on the scoreboard.
Miguel Aguilar relieved for the Sultanes in the eighth inning with two runners on base to extinguish the fire and also dominated in the ninth inning to earn his first save of the season.
Third game of the series
The third game of the series will be played on Sunday at 19:00 at Estadio Revolución. Luis Gámez will pitch for the Algodoneros, while Yennsy Díaz will pitch for the Sultanes.
