Atlas has shaken off elimination from the Concacaf and promises to be a thorn in the side in the playoffs, a round for which they are practically qualified after defeating Necaxa 1-3 in Aguascalientes.
Julián Quiñones continues with great form with a new brace that leaves him with 12 goals in the tournament, just one behind Henry Martín in the fight for the scoring championship. The Colombian was substituted due to an injury, but it doesn't appear to be serious. He will seek to make history as the club's first scoring champion in San Luis in Matchday 17.

Brian Lozano, who was returning from a suspension, put the Zorros ahead in the 22nd minute with a free-kick shot where Hugo González could only watch as the ball went into the net.
In this match, Benjamin Mora recovered the Uruguayan, as well as the Peruvian Anderson Santamaría, and had no problems with Ozziel Herrera and Aldo Rocha, who arrived physically loaded after their participation with the Mexican national team.
The show from Julián Quiñones began one minute after Lozano. Ozziel Herrera left him alone in front of the goal and the Colombian just pushed it in for the quick 2-0.
Before halftime, Quiñones scored a brace in a play that had to be reviewed by VAR for a supposed offside from the Colombian, which could never be proven.
Edgar Méndez had a goal disallowed in added time of the first half for an offside, but the Spaniard redeemed himself in the 83rd minute with a great header to beat José Hernández.
Julián was substituted in the 73rd minute. For the first time in the championship, he was replaced, although it doesn't seem to be a serious issue. The Zorros can't afford to risk their best player at the moment. They are currently waiting for the return of goalkeeper Camilo Vargas.
With this result, the Zorros reached 20 points and only goal difference would leave them out of the playoffs in the last round, while Necaxa with 14 points joins the list of teams eliminated from the Clausura 2023.
