The Mexican coach's tenure ended after losing to Toluca
who was celebrating their 106th anniversary, in a match from round 6 of the Clausura 2023 in the Liga MX.
The cement team announced through a statement the departure of the world champion coach with the U-17 national team, who arrived in the final stretch of the first phase of the Apertura 2022 tournament, in which he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Monterrey.
"The management of Cruz Azul Football Club informs that according to the results obtained in the last matches, the decision was made to dismiss the head coach Raúl Ernesto Gutiérrez Jacobo", reads the statement shared by the blue squad on their social media.

The Potro leaves the Celestes in 17th place in the standings
