Miguel Herrera was officially announced this Friday as the new head coach of Xolos de Tijuana for the Clausura 2023 of the Liga MX, replacing Ricardo Valiño, who was dismissed due to the team's poor results.
The Piojo returns to the border after his controversial departure from Tigres, to begin his second tenure as the head of the Jauría squad.
Through Brandon Moreno, UFC fighter and sports figure in the border city, the club announced the arrival of Herrera as the skipper who will seek to remedy the situation of the first team.

Los Xolos were coached by Cirilo Saucedo in the match of matchday 5 of the tournament against Necaxa, when they drew 1-1 at the Victoria Stadium.
Herrera arrives at the Tijuana club after being dismissed as the coach of the Mexican national team, which announced Diego Cocca as the manager for the 2026 World Cup cycle.
In his first stint at the helm of Xolos, the Piojo led them to the overall leadership of the Apertura 2016 and Clausura 2017, results that he will try to replicate in the midst of the results crisis that have the team in 14th place in the standings with only 4 points.
A new era begins ????
