The Tuzos from Pachuca sent a message to the Mexican Football Federation after ruling out Guillermo Almada as the coach of the Tricolor.

This Friday, the new CEO of national teams, Rodrigo Ares de Parga officially presented Diego Cocca as the technical director of the national team for the 2026 World Cup process, putting an end to the rumors of possible candidates to take charge of the Mexican team.

Given the controversy that arose, there were those who didn't hesitate to ask Ares de Parga his reasons for ruling out Guillermo Almada, Pachuca's manager, after it was said that he was the profile that was closest to the Mexican team's bench.

However, Rodrigo Ares de Parga evaded the question and pointed out that they had already presented Diego Cocca and they should talk about that during the press conference held on Friday at the High Performance Center.

Rodrigo Ares de Parga evades question about why they didn't choose Guillermo Almada: "I don't need to get into the topic of why yes or why not. Today we are presenting Mr. Diego Cocca".

Nevertheless, there were those who were not satisfied with the decision of the Mexican Football Federation, such as Pachuca, who took the opportunity to send a message after Guillermo Almada was ruled out as the national team's coach.

"Because of your passion, your dedication, your professionalism, and many other things, for us you are the best coach in the world. The Almadismo continues," Pachuca stated in an emotional video shared on their social media.

The Uruguayan coach arrived in Mexican football in the Clausura 2019 with the Santos squad, with whom he achieved a runner-up position in 2021. He then moved to Pachuca for the Clausura 2022, where he also achieved a runner-up position and later, in the Apertura of that same year, he became champion with the Tuzos.

Because of this, Guillermo Almada -alongside Marcelo Bielsa- seemed to be the favorites among fans and the public opinion to take over as the head coach of the Mexican national team. However, Diego Cocca, a former strategist of Tigres, beat them to the position.
