America defeats Mazatlán by 6-0 in a match of the fourth round of the Mexican Clausura Tournament, at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The goals came from Jonathan Javier Rodríguez, Diego Valdés, Henry Martín, three times, and Richard Sánchez. This way, the America team gets their first victory after three consecutive draws. Meanwhile, their opponent sinks to the last place with zero points.
The 'Águilas' showed from the first minute that they were going all out to get the victory, although Mazatlán responded, making the game go back and forth.
At 31 minutes, America opened the scoring. Uruguayan Jonathan 'Cabecita' Rodríguez put the home team in front after a gritty assist from Diego Valdés.
It didn't take long for the net of the Cañoneros' goal to be inflated again. At 34', Valdés would appear again, but this time to score a goal, the second of the match.
Just after celebrating, Henry Martín placed the third goal. A powerful header, after a cross from Rodríguez, made it 3-0 in a match that was already a rout.
