Mexican-Peruvian striker Santiago Ormeño could return to Puebla

It is known that the Aztec team would be waiting for Chivas de Guadalajara to make the payment of the player's remaining contract in order to complete the transfer.

After the news that Santiago Ormeño had been removed from Chivas de Guadalajara's team for the 2023 season by the coach's orders, it started circulating that the Mexican-Peruvian striker might be planning to return to Puebla in Mexico, where he played in 2018 and 2019.

This news was shared by Mexican journalist René Tovar, from ESPN Mexico, who confirmed that the Aztec team had presented a juicy offer, but they would have to wait for Chivas to pay the remainder of his contract to proceed with the transfer.

"Puebla's offer for Santiago Ormeño is on the table. It's not Mazatlán. The issue is that Chivas would still have to pay his three-year contract. La Franja wants him on loan because of how much the striker currently earns. Guadalajara made a mistake again," wrote the journalist.

As you may recall, Guadalajara's coach, Veljko Paunovic, confirmed that the Mexican-Peruvian striker would not be considered for the squad this year. "Santiago Ormeño is our player and is under contract. We will always respect that. The decision not to include him in our plans is more related to the order we have and how we measure our squad," he declared.

Puebla in Mexico has good reasons to want Ormeño, as during his time with the team in 2021, he played 36 matches and scored 17 goals, a figure that allowed him to be considered for the Peruvian national team.
