Mexico and Saudi Arabia faced each other in an entertaining match at the Lusail Stadium in Doha. The Mexican team needed to win and hope that Argentina gives them a hand against Poland. Both scenarios came true, but it still wasn't enough due to the goal difference with the Polish team.
The 'Tri' won the match 2-1 with goals from Henry Martín (47') and Luis Chávez (52'), but they were left out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup because of Al Dawsari's (90+5') goal in injury time.
