Alfredo Pistache Torres passed away on Thursday, November 10 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, confirmed the club itself in a statement.

Although he did not win any league titles, he is considered the club's greatest idol. In fact, he joined the Rojinegros one year after the 1951 title.

On his debut, he scored two goals against Atlante, which foreshadowed what would be the forward's career with the El Paradero team.

He played with Atlas until 1970 and won two Cups, one in 1962 and another in 1968, in addition to the 1962 Champion of Champions.

He also goes down in Jalisco's sports history as the top scorer in the Tapatío derbies with 12 goals.

He was a coach for the Zorros in two stages, first in 1965 and then in the 1973-1974 season. He led the club to promotion to the Primera División twice.

He represented Mexico in the FIFA World Cup in Switzerland in 1954.

A year ago, he was admitted to the hospital where he remained for several days due to intestinal problems.
