In the semifinals 2 of the Mexico - Liga MX - Apertura 2022 tournament, the Tuzos defeated the Rayados 1-0 at the BBVA stadium. The visiting team scored the only goal of the match in the 49th minute of the second half, through Avilés Hurtado from a penalty.

A shot by Germán Berterame hit the post in the 76th minute of the second half, and CF Monterrey missed their chance to take the lead.

Despite Pachuca winning the match, CF Monterrey had the upper hand with 19 shots, but they couldn't convert them into goals. According to the statistics, 11 shots hit the target, 1 hit the post, and 7 went wide.
