The university students won 4-0 against Atlas, while the Eagles came back against Pachuca with a score of 5-2.

The Pumas and America took the lead in the Sub-20 and Sub-18 categories of the Liga MX, respectively. With big victories in their respective matches, the teams from the capital put a distance that looks difficult to overcome for their rivals.

First, the Pumas defeated Atlas 4-0 in the Sub-20 division. Gael Rodríguez had a brilliant performance, as the feline forward scored a hat-trick that left the Atlas team almost hopeless. Atlas suffered a lot in defense and struggled with lack of effectiveness in the area. José Caicedo scored the other goal from the penalty spot, securing a 4-0 victory for the Pumas at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario, which had players from the Sub-11 to Sub-17 categories, as well as the women's squads, as fans.

Regarding this, Miguel Mejía Barón, sports vice president of the Pumas, mentioned how gratifying this result was and how important the final is for the institution, especially after the results obtained by the women's and men's first teams.

"It is very satisfying after the results we have obtained, which are not pleasant at all. Being in the final of such an important tournament as the Sub-20 is like a blessing for any institution, not only for Pumas," acknowledged Mejía Barón at the end of the match.

"When the first team is not doing well, there is nothing that can cover it. They are different things, but it is hopeful to have a group that can perform well and have some players who can be considered, because I don't think Pumas is the only team that is attentive and hopeful that young players will emerge ready for the First Division as soon as possible," said the director as he left the stadium.

The second leg between both teams will be on Sunday at 9 AM at the Jalisco Stadium.

At the Estadio Azteca, the Eagles had no problem overcoming the Tuzos and now everything will be defined on Saturday at 10 AM at the Estadio Hidalgo.
