Jesus Fabela hits three-run homer in the fourth inning to lead Tomateros' 7-2 victory over Sultanes

Sebastian Elizalde went 4-4 with one RBI, same as Diego Madero who had a home run, a double, and two singles in four at-bats, with three runs scored and one run batted in.

The winning pitcher was Oliver Perez (1-0) in relief. The loss went to lefty Gabriel Garcia (0-2).

Tomateros opened the scoring in the third inning with a home run by Diego Madero to left field.

The Culiacan team took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning with the first home run of the year by "Chuyito" Fabela that drove in Jose Guadalupe Chavez and Diego Madero.

Monterrey scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Fernando Perez hit his third home run of the season to reach 10 runs batted in.

Then they had the bases loaded with one out, but Oliver Perez came in to make a good relief and put out the fire. Sultanes only added another run with a ground ball through first base by Carlos Soto and then Mateo Gil was caught with a fly ball to right field.

Culiacan had the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the sixth but only scored one run thanks to the relief of Norman Elenes. Efrén Navarro hit into a double play, driving Ramiro Peña to home plate.

The visiting team closed their account in the eighth inning, with runs scored by Diego Madero and Chuy Fabela.

Sultanes has used 13 pitchers in the first two games. The Tomateros' offense has accumulated 29 hits.

The series will end this Thursday at 18:00 hours with the debut of Cuban Carlos Juan Viera as the starting pitcher for the Gray Phantoms.
