One of the favorites to win the championship is América, who finished the Apertura 2022 as the leader and with an important and historic winning streak. Even sports journalist José Ramón Fernández assured that 'it's their turn' to conquer the title, although his statement did not shy away from controversy.

"The América deserves to be champion, I've said it before. There are arrangements in Mexican soccer," he emphasized in Futbol Picante.
