After four consecutive losses in the last two weeks, Chivas are playing for a good position in the table against Cruz Azul.

The Rebaño returned to Guadalajara after a mini tour of the United States where they faced Cincinnati and America, and will now close the regular season on Saturday at the Estadio Azteca.

"We must make good use of this week to prepare for the last match of the tournament, knowing that if we achieve the result, it is most likely that we will host the repechage at home. With that objective, we will prepare for it knowing that from now on, they will all be like a final," said the rojiblanco coach, Ricardo Cadena.

Despite going through a rough patch, Cadena is focused on recovering their good form and arriving in good shape for the Liguilla.

"The league is what concerns me, and of course I don't like to link two consecutive defeats. We will seek to close the tournament well, and the goal is to win the match," he said.

Alexis Vega is the fourth red-and-white player with the most minutes played in this season, totaling 1,336 minutes, in addition to appearances with the Mexican national team. Therefore, they will manage his activity to keep him in good physical condition.

"It's important, he specifically has had a lot of workload. The workload has been quite significant, but we believe that we can manage it and in some way consider him for the weekend and for what is to come," said Cadena.

The games in the United States served to give minutes to players who are recovering their best form, such as Jesús Molina and Jesús Angulo, who were out for seven and four months, respectively.

"The returns after many months of important injuries, both (Jesús) Molina and (Jesús Angulo) 'Canelo', I think that little by little they are feeling better. In that regard, 'Canelo' is ahead of Molina, but it's always important to see them smile," said the coach.

A defeat against Cruz Azul would drop the Rebaño down the table, and for the repechage match they would play as visitors. If they win, they could rise to sixth position if Puebla and Toluca obtain unfavorable results.

On Saturday, they will face a coach who arrived in a similar situation, Raúl Gutiérrez took over La Máquina six games ago and has four wins, one draw, and one defeat, so he applauded the confidence in Mexican coaches.

"It will always be important to have space for Mexican coaches, and whenever you come across someone who is Mexican and looking for a space, it is motivating and a source of great pleasure. We should feel proud that we have the ability to manage teams in Mexico," he added.
