This conflict occurred after the match against the emerald squad came to an end, at which point Jesús Corona, as captain of Cruz Azul, asked his teammates to gather in the center of the field to thank their fans for their support, an instruction that everyone followed immediately, except for the Chilean Iván Morales. This situation angered the goalkeeper, who went to confront the Andean forward about his attitude, but the conflict didn't escalate further thanks to the intervention of Jorge García, who calmed the goalkeeper, and Erik Lira, who did the same with the forward.
"There was nothing, just the euphoria at the end of the match, what happened there, simply the intensity with which the game is played, but there was nothing. We talked about it afterwards, as it should be, and the situation was resolved, there was nothing else to say, it was just a misunderstanding," said goalkeeper Jesús Corona, who offered his version of the events to the press representatives after the valuable victory achieved by La Máquina over León at the Estadio Azteca.
In a press conference, Raúl 'Potro' Gutiérrez, head coach of Cruz Azul, was also questioned about the incident involving two members of his squad, but the cementero strategist agreed that everything had been resolved immediately in the locker rooms.
"Remember that after a match, you have different reactions, different situations, each player experiences a different world in that sense, beyond the joy of winning as a team. It was just a misunderstanding, we talked about it, and it was resolved right there, nothing else happened," said 'Potro', who has the celestial squad in tenth place on the table, with 18 points.
