The strong performances that Jorge Sánchez had at América caught the attention of Ajax, who, after analyzing him, decided to sign the Mexican player and succeeded. The operation was done a few weeks ago, and this Sunday, the defender made his official debut in the match against Utrecht.

The 24-year-old footballer, in his second call-up to the Dutch team, waited for his opportunity on the substitute bench. Devyne Rensch's injury opened the possibility for him to go onto the field and that's what happened. Coach Alfred Schreuder ordered the substitution and Sánchez entered in the 38th minute.

"Once on the field, Sánchez rarely touched the ball; however, he generated attacking options and was active in defense," reported the Mexican newspaper Récord, regarding the athlete's participation, who attempted an overhead kick goal in stoppage time.

It is worth mentioning that Jorge Sánchez, who in addition to América was part of Santos Laguna, arrived at Ajax in exchange for 5 million euros. The contract with the Mexican player, who hopes to earn a spot in Gerardo Martino's call-up for the Qatar World Cup, is until June 30, 2026.
