This Tuesday, the Braves defeated the Foxes 1-0 in their match for the 9th round of the Mexico - Liga MX - Apertura 2022 tournament.

The visitors scored the only goal of the match in the 19th minute of the second half, through Jesús Dueñas. After receiving an assist from Maximiliano Olivera, the midfielder placed it on the right and low post. Impossible for the goalkeeper!

The match was very disputed and intense, with more nerves than gameplay. There were a large number of yellow cards: Emiliano Velázquez, Gabriel Fernández, Maximiliano Silvera, Javier Salas, Edgar Zaldivar, Jesús Dueñas, and Alberto Acosta.

The coach of Atlas, Diego Cocca, implemented a 4-3-3 strategy with Camilo Vargas in goal; Hugo Nervo, Javier Abella, Aníbal Chalá, and Gaddi Aguirre in the defensive line; Emanuel Aguilera, Edgar Zaldivar, and Jeremy Márquez in the midfield; and Jonathan Herrera, Julio Furch, and Julián Quiñones in the attack.

On the other hand, Hernán Cristante's team played with a 4-4-2 formation, with Alfredo Talavera in goal; Carlos Salcedo, Emiliano Velázquez, Maximiliano Olivera, and Alberto Acosta in defense; Javier Salas, Alan Medina, Jesús Dueñas, and Matías García in the midfield; and Maximiliano Silvera and Gabriel Fernández in the forward line.

Referee Adonai Escobedo González was selected to officiate the match.

In the next round, the Foxes will host Puebla and the Braves will play at home against Mazatlán at the Benito Juárez Olympic Stadium.

After the match, the home team remains with 8 points and in fifteenth place in the standings, while the visitors have 10 points and occupy the tenth place in the tournament.
