Atlas Goal: Julián Quiñones scored the 1-0 against Chivas in the Clásico Tapatío.

Atlas seeks to break a major losing streak and enter the fight for the national title, after becoming bicampeon. In the eighth round, the 'Zorros' face Chivas de Guadalajara, in a new edition of the Clasico Tapatio, and they took the lead thanks to Julián Quiñones' goal.

The match exceeded 62 minutes and the team led by Diego Cocca had a free-kick from the left wing. Due to the lack of clarity in the combined plays, set pieces took on a greater role for the 'Rojinegros', which is why they arrived en masse in the rival's field.

Julián Quiñones was in charge of starting the ball rolling and, as soon as he saw the signal from referee Miguel Ángel Ortiz, he executed it. The cross went straight into the small area and goalkeeper Miguel Jiménez seemed to have it all under control, but he got confident and that ended up costing him.

The ball bounced on the grass and went into the goal, despite the attempts of some 'Zorros' players who were in the area. After the partial 1-0 was scored, the squad of the reigning bicampeon celebrated euphorically and even the substitutes invaded the field.

If the result is achieved, Atlas will have 10 points and climb to tenth place, entering the round of 16 zone for the title playoffs; while Chivas will remain in the penultimate position (17th), with only five points and a complicated panorama to access the liguilla.
