The América's full-back would play alongside Edson Álvarez at Ajax in the Netherlands, but what is missing for the Mexican's transfer to be finalized. All the details in this article.

The departure of Jorge Sánchez from América is imminent. The 'Águilas' have reached an agreement with Ajax from the Netherlands for the transfer of the Mexican full-back, who will fulfill his dream of playing in Europe this season, after his time in the Liga MX, and will reunite with his teammate -and friend- Edson Álvarez, who also defends the colors for the 'Sons of God' in the Eredivisie.

As is known, Edson Álvarez has left a very good impression at Ajax, opening the way for more players from the Liga MX. Ajax has a very important scouting system, so it is an honor that they are interested in Jorge Sánchez.

According to the information available, the Dutch club will pay around 5 million dollars for 80 percent of his pass and the remaining money will be made with a possible future sale of the player.

The defender, who came from the Santos Laguna academy, will travel no later than Monday, August 8th, to finalize the details, such as medical exams, and define the terms of the contract that will link him to Ajax for five years. With Jorge Sánchez's signing with Ajax, there will be four Mexican players competing in the upcoming Eredivisie season. It will be a luxury.

Did Fernando Ortiz anticipate Jorge Sánchez's signing?

It is practically a fact that Jorge Sánchez will join Ajax in the Netherlands and Fernando Ortiz, coach of América, is happy about this possibility, since the player will fulfill the dream of playing in a European league.

"I don't know anything about whether it has been finalized or not; if it has been finalized, I am happy for him. I will talk to the right people to see if we can bring someone else," said 'Tano' Ortiz after the game against Los Angeles FC, which the 'Águilas' won in the penalty shootout.

Pedro Aquino excited for Jorge Sánchez

"It would be a great opportunity. We know the kind of player he is and his importance to the club. If he has the chance to leave, welcome it and I hope it goes well for him," said the Peruvian midfielder, who - like 'Tano' Ortiz - wishes the best for Jorge Sánchez.
