MEXICO -- The injury suffered by Leonel López in the final part of the match that Pumas lost to Atlético de San Luis was just a scare, and although the player will not be used against Chivas next Saturday, he could be in condition to play the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League final on Wednesday at Ciudad Universitaria.

After the match, López was taken to a hospital in the capital of San Luis Potosí for tests, as it was feared that he could have a fractured tibia and fibula. However, only soft tissue swelling was detected. On Thursday morning, he underwent new studies for greater certainty and to confirm that it was only inflammation from the blow received by Javier Güemez.

In this way, Argentine coach Andrés Lillini will not use López on Saturday to have him at 100% against Seattle Sounders in the first match of the regional final.

On the other hand, forward Juan Ignacio Dinenno will already be available for the match against Chivas, after serving his suspension.

Pumas did regenerative work in San Luis and flew to Guadalajara, where they will continue to concentrate for the visit to the team led by Ricardo Cadena, a direct rival in the fight for qualification through the repechage.

Lillini's team will finish matchday 15 with 19 points in 11th place, still in the relegation zone, and will face Guadalajara, who currently occupies 8th place with 20 points.
