Transfer News: Cruz Azul signs Uruguayan player Cristian Tabó
A few days after the historic crowning of Atlas in the Liga MX, teams have already started with the signings for the 2022 season. One of the teams that has already made a signing is Cruz Azul, a club led by Peruvian coach Juan Reynoso.
With a post on their social media, Cruz Azul announced the signing of Uruguayan winger Cristian Tabó, who had a good season at Puebla, where he played 25 matches and scored three goals in the Liga MX.
Juan Reynoso's good relationship with the people at Puebla, as he previously coached the team, would have made it possible for Tabó to sign for Cruz Azul. According to the Mexican press, the player also had other offers.
Mexican media even claim that Tabó turned down a concrete offer from Monterrey, a team led by Mexican coach Javier Aguirre. Cruz Azul matched the offer and ended up signing the player.
Cruz Azul managed to win a title with Juan Reynoso after many seasons, but in the last championship, the lack of a deep squad, combined with injuries, took its toll and they couldn't reach the final stages.
Despite the rumors of a possible departure of the Peruvian coach, Juan remains steadfast in the team and has the trust of the board, who expects another title with the 'Cabezón' at the helm.
