Jesús Angulo was the victim of a momentary kidnapping in September. The Chivas de Guadalajara player recounted the difficult moment he had to go through with his girlfriend when several criminals tried to steal their car and ended up holding them captive for several minutes inside the vehicle.
The player who has been with the Rebaño since 2020 shared the experience in an interview with the podcast Entre Compas. "To be honest, I thought about everything. I was with my girlfriend, and when they told me they just wanted the car, I was calm. I tried to act normal; I told her that everything was fine and they just wanted the car," he began.
"At one point, they got nervous and that's when I got scared because you think of everything: 'They want to kidnap or kill me.' It's a very unpleasant feeling. My girlfriend was praying. It's the worst experience that has happened to me in my life, and I had never experienced anything like it before," he added.
The 24-year-old midfielder said that the quick dissemination by the Mexican press led the criminals to release them soon. "They kept us in the car for about half an hour and all that. (...) After five minutes, the news was already out. And it's like they said, 'Let's just leave it here'; and they left. They stopped the car and ran away. We stayed crouched down for about five minutes. We didn't know what to do," he explained.
Finally, Jesús said that he and his girlfriend began asking for help from everyone nearby. He mentioned that she stopped a car and told them who he was in order to seek assistance and avoid suspicion.
